The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Science at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) in Galway is a CORU-approved program designed to prepare students for careers in medical laboratory science. This program is one of only three of its kind in the Republic of Ireland with CORU approval, allowing graduates to work as medical scientists in hospitals. The program is also validated by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) in the United Kingdom.
This program emphasizes practical laboratory training, preparing students for immediate employment upon graduation.The CORU approval and IBMS validation ensure the program meets international standards for medical laboratory science.

Notes
Tuition Fee – the Department of Education pays tuition fees for all full-time students who are citizens of a Member State of the EU and who meet the residency requirements. Most full-time undergraduate students will be covered by the Free Fees Initiative scheme for their tuition fee. Students from Northern Ireland or Great Britain do not have to pay tuition fees to study in the Republic of Ireland. All students are liable for the Student Contribution fee: €3,000. Application deadline for EU students is February 1.
Admissions Requirements
High School Diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.0 plus: SAT score of 1000+ (1800 prior to 2016) or ACT composite score of 22 and above or 2-3 Advanced Placement Examinations in relevant subjects with grades 3 and above OR 2-3 SAT subject tests in relevant subjects with a minimum score of 600 in each. Vetting Requirement: All places are offered on this programme subject to satisfactory Garda vetting clearance.
