Launch a fulfilling career in healthcare and become a registered nurse in Finland with Tampere University of Applied Sciences’ (TAMK) Bachelor of Health Care in Nursing program designed specifically for immigrants. This three and a half year, full-time program provides a bilingual (Finnish and English) education, equipping you with the knowledge, skills, and Finnish language proficiency to become a qualified nurse in the Finnish healthcare system.
Become a Registered Nurse in Finland: The program prepares you to meet the requirements for the Finnish National Licensure Examination for Nurses (NAMSA). Upon graduation and licensure, you’ll be eligible to work as a registered nurse in various healthcare settings throughout Finland.
Focus on Practical Skills: Gain valuable hands-on experience through extensive clinical placements in hospitals, health centers, and other healthcare settings. The program emphasizes patient-centered care, clinical reasoning, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
Strong Theoretical Foundation: Develop a comprehensive understanding of nursing theories, healthcare practices, and the Finnish healthcare system. Learn about anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and other essential nursing sciences.
Intercultural Competence: The program fosters intercultural understanding and equips you to provide culturally sensitive care to a diverse patient population.

Please note: Meeting the Finnish language proficiency requirement (Finnish level 3) is mandatory for licensure and working as a nurse in Finland. TAMK provides Finnish language courses throughout the program to support you in achieving this goal.
Notes
There is an option for Selection based on SAT-score: TAMK requires you to take the SAT, which includes a Reading test, a Writing and Language test and a Math test. Essay is not required. The lowest accepted SAT score total is 1100 points. Students are selected in order of points.
Admissions Requirements
Higher secondary school certificate completed outside Finland (e.g. high school diploma) and Online entrance examination.
