The Pharmaceutical Science with Drug Development program at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) is a comprehensive undergraduate program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries.
This program combines a strong foundation in chemistry, biology, and engineering principles with specialized coursework in drug discovery, development, manufacturing, and regulation.
Graduates will gain a thorough understanding of the drug development process, from initial target identification to clinical trials and market approval. They will also develop proficiency in laboratory techniques, data analysis, scientific communication, and regulatory affairs.
Students have the opportunity to complete a work placement between years 3 and 4, gaining valuable real-world experience in a pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical setting. Placements can be domestic or international.

Tuition Fee – the Department of Education pays tuition fees for all full-time students who are citizens of a Member State of the EU and who meet the residency requirements. Most full-time undergraduate students will be covered by the Free Fees Initiative scheme for their tuition fee.Students from Northern Ireland or Great Britain do not have to pay tuition fees to study in the Republic of Ireland.All students are liable for the Student Contribution fee: €3,000.
Admissions Requirements
High School Diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.0 plus: SAT score of 1000+ (1800 prior to 2016) or ACT composite score of 22 and above or 2-3 Advanced Placement Examinations in relevant subjects with grades 3 and above OR 2-3 SAT subject tests in relevant subjects with a minimum score of 600 in each.
