Explore the fascinating world of psychology and develop the skills to support others with the University of Salford’s BSc in Psychology and Counselling. This three-year, full-time program equips you with a thorough grounding in both psychological theory and practical counselling skills, preparing you for diverse careers in the helping professions.
Dual Focus on Psychology & Counselling: Gain a comprehensive understanding of human behaviour, mental health, and psychological processes while developing the core competencies necessary for effective counselling.
Accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS): Upon graduation and meeting the Graduate Basis for Registration requirements, you’ll be eligible to pursue further training to become a Chartered Psychologist in the UK.
Strong Emphasis on Practical Skills: Develop your counselling abilities through role-playing exercises, simulated counselling sessions, and potential work placements within counselling agencies or mental health settings (program-dependent).
Broad Range of Psychological Topics: Explore various areas of psychology, including social psychology, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, abnormal psychology, and more. Gain a holistic understanding of the human mind and behaviour.

Admissions Requirements
High School Diploma with a combined score of SAT I of at least 1260 with an individual minimum score in mathematics of 570 /800 and an individual minimum score of 610/800 in the evidence-based reading and writing section; or ACT with a score of at least 26; or grade 3, 3, 4 in three Advanced Placement Tests (APs) in specified subjects; or SAT II in three specified subjects at 575 or better (we will accept tests interchangeably as long as in total three subject areas are covered).
If you do not meet the entry requirements, you could take the International Foundation Year to gain entry onto this degree.
