Vocal Studies
Profile
Classical Vocal Studies (Aarhus) is a 3-year BMus program where students acquire the knowledge, skills, and qualifications necessary to work as singers, music teachers, and artistic citizens. The program focuses on subjects with direct relation to vocal studies and includes a broad elective catalog, giving students the opportunity to develop a personal professional profile. The main study area includes chamber music as a further development of the student’s vocal studies skills, and ear training supporting the student’s development towards awareness of his/her own musical experience and imagination. The general studies teach the student to view music from other angles than that of the performer and provide perspectives that contribute to a broader foundation for the student’s practice. Later on in the program, the student also works with communication and entrepreneurship in music, in practice and theory, and acquires pedagogical skills and qualifications. The Vocal Studies program concludes with a student-defined Bachelor project, which is based on student interests and needs and also constitutes his/her specialization in the vocal studies field.
