Profile
The English-language international study program Chemistry and Physics of Materials is an interdisciplinary master’s program based on MINT subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, technology), which focuses on the production, characterization and knowledge-based further development of functional materials from the laboratory and nature. With regard to the desired material functions, it is the chemical, physical and in many cases also biological factors that determine the properties, stability and environmental compatibility of a material. In addition to the focus on the function and stability of functional materials, students should be aware of material cycles in connection with the selection and processing of materials and basic substances,Graduates of the Master’s program in Chemistry and Physics of Materials have a particularly wide range of professional fields open to them due to the interdisciplinary orientation of the program. This ranges from specialist activities to functions in service areas and in management.Typical occupational fields are activities- in the chemical industry and building materials industry- in the automotive industry – in energy technology- in electrical and electronics companies- in bio and medical technology- in research at universities and non-university scientific institutes
