Profile
You will have between 8 and 12 hours of teaching per week, in the form of lectures, class teaching and discussions. There will also be presentations from you and other students, as well as occasional group work.During the first term you will be introduced to core concepts and research practices in the humanities, focusing on, and aiming to integrate, the three ‘pillars’ on which the academic study of English has traditionally been thought to rest: language, literature, history/culture. Also during the first and second terms, you will be able to choose from a variety of elective courses on a range of topics reflecting the faculty’s research interests. Your classes will focus on aspects of English, including theoretical and methodological aspects of the study of (English) language, literature, history and culture. During the third term you will have the option of studying abroad at a European or an American university. The fourth term is reserved for the Master’s Thesis.
