Profile
The prediction of natural disasters and the efficient search for raw materials are becoming more and more important for mankind. With its findings, geophysics contributes, for example, to the understanding of the processes that lead to the occurrence of earthquakes, or helps to assess the opportunities and risks in the extraction of raw materials. The research-oriented master’s degree in geophysics imparts knowledge, skills and practice in the fields of “natural hazards and extreme events” and “geophysical exploration methods and raw materials”.Since the Institute for Geophysics is part of the KlimaCampus Hamburg and is actively involved in the CliSAP Cluster of Excellence, it offers an active and attractive teaching and research environment. The students are actively involved in research programs at an early stage. With their knowledge, graduates are prepared for a successful career in research or in companies.
