The Functional Materials course is a new educational offer directed to graduate students with general background in materials physics, chemistry and engineering. Students will acquire knowledge on the interrelations between the manufacturing methods, structure and properties of materials and unique properties possible to develop by novel manufacturing and/or processing techniques. The application area covers electronics, photonics, energy storage and conversion, heterogeneous catalysis, health care, as well as sensing devices. The program encompasses lectures, seminars and laboratory work focused on the issues of surface functionalization, manufacturing bulk materials for demanding environments and integration of different materials, as well as elements of computer aided design, modelling and advanced characterization methods.

Admissions Requirements
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree with a major in chemistry, physics, or materials engineering. Applicants from non-anglophone countries should provide proof of English proficiency. The application period for non-EU students is from December 15 to February 2 (electronic registry); February 20 to February 24 (Accepting documents from candidates and registration in the Faculty Office).
