Profile
What explains the rise of populism and the legitimacy crisis of Western democracies? In which way does the growing unequal distribution of wealth and resources between haves and have-nots impact political decision-making and institutions? These issues are of great societal relevance and raise major normative concerns about the future of democracies, political order, equality, and representation. In the specialization ‘Democracy, Power and Inequality’ you will learn to navigate these normative questions, while also being able to examine the actual developments in a rigorous analytical way, employing state-of-the-art political science theories and methodologies.
