Profile
The Double Degree Master Programme `Transformation of urban Landscapes (TuL)´ focuses on the present and future challenges in developing sustainable metropolitan regions and facilitates the necessary professional competence to cope with those challenges in both growing and shrinking regions. At first transformation of urban Landscapes is once the title of the research and teaching focus of the Institute of Geography. This also paraphrases the two fundamental pillars of the teaching and research focus: On the one side practice and basis-oriented research, and on the other side knowledge transfer by academic teaching. The research and teaching focus `Transformation of urban Landscapes´ consists of the four fields of work established at the Institute of Geography, notably the Human Geography, the Physical Geography, Geomatics and Didactics of Geography. The latest agreement on the Double Degree Master Programme was signed by the rectorate of RUB and the president of the Tongji University Shanghai as well as the two deans of the Faculty of Geosciences resp. the College of Architecture and Urban Planning.
