The Dentistry programme is aimed at educating dentists, which is a state-regulated profession. It is designed in accordance with the general requirements for the integrated studies set out in the Republic of Lithuania’s valid legal documents, and is also fully consistent with the requirements laid down in the European Directive 2005/36/EC.
The Dentistry programme encompasses the compulsory subjects delivered through both theoretical and practical teaching. Each discipline balances theoretical and practical approaches, to maintain the required level of university education.
A Doctor of Dental Medicine possesses skills in using the main clinical methods. He/she also possesses the main clinical skills, as well as scientific research, communication, professional ethics and informational technology skills.
Notes
If an applicant has taken either the SAT Subject Test in Biology E/M or the MCAT test, not earlier than 2 years before the submission of the application, the applicant can apply without taking the entrance examination (the SAT and MCAT scores remain valid for 2 years).
Admissions Requirements
High School Diploma or its equivalent and SAT, ACT, or AP examination results or documents attesting post-secondary education of at least one year at a higher education institution.
It is mandatory to provide documents about the education acquired in the field of Biomedicine/Life Sciences/Health Sciences. If the applicant has completed Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics subjects, it shall be considered to be an advantage.
Applicants applying independently, or applying through other agencies, must have completed the Biology subject at school. The Natural Sciences subject is considered to be equivalent to the Biology subject.
