If you would like to graduate with a second-level teacher qualification to teach Mathematics and Computer Science, then the BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science (with Education) is for you. After five years of study for the Mathematics and Computer Science (with Education) degree, students will have achieved a Level 9 Professional Master of Education (PME) teaching qualification in two subjects. Depending on the subjects chosen during the course of the degree, graduates will be in a position to teach mathematics and computer science. Graduates will also be qualified to teach Junior Certificate mathematics and computer science.
Study for four years as an undergraduate for a Science degree while also completing 60 credits in Education. To become a fully qualified teacher, you must complete one further year. At the end of year five, you will be a fully qualified and registered second-level teacher.

All students are liable for the Student Contribution fee: €3,000 (for non-EU students is already included in the price). Exchequer Free Fees Scheme for EU student is available.
Application deadline for EU students is February 1 (Regular) and May 1 (Late).
Offers of places on this programme are subject to a satisfactory background check by the National Vetting Bureau.
Admissions Requirements
High School GPA 3.0/4.0 (3.5/4.0 for certain degrees) plus a minimum 1000 composite SAT (reading, writing and math) score (1200 / 1600 for certain degrees) or a minimum ACT composite: 22 / 36 (26 /36 for certain degrees) (writing section not required). Test scores are not required when applying, they can be submitted at a later date.
