Emphasis is placed on your ability to research and study independently and work with your student colleagues. The programme aims to develop your skills of self-reflection and ability to reason and develop your critical thinking skills.
ON THIS COURSE YOU WILL…
- Develop and accomplish the knowledge and skills you need to practise and provide evidenced-based and compassionate care as a registered nurse
- Develop skills of assessment, clinical decision making and managing complex care in a variety of settings
- Develop skills through a range of nursing placements that will be a mixture of hospital and community settings, and through skills teaching and simulated practice
- Prepare you for a future leadership role in nursing practice
You will spend 50% of the programme on clinical placement being supervised and assessed by practice staff.
You will be taught to make complex decisions regarding patient care in diverse settings and with different patient groups.
A variety of teaching and learning methods are utilised on the BSc Nursing Programme. The methods of learning will vary from module to module and session to session. Learning and teaching is designed to support your academic and professional development and we encourage self-study and independent learning.
Admissions Requirements
High school diploma with B in relevant subjects and average B (3.0) AND one of the qualifications below:
SAT 1 with 550+ in the maths, critical reading and writing. Sat scores range from 200-800
SAT if High School Diploma not passed with 600 points
ACT (American College Test) instead of SAT 1 with composite score value of 25
Advanced Placement Tests 2passes with grade 3 or above (in relevant subjects)
GED (General Education Development Programme) with min score of 410 in each of five tests (max score 800, min pass grade 200)
