Profile
Studying science at SETU Waterford will broaden your understanding of the world around you and give you the skills needed to approach matters in a reasoned and analytical manner.
All of our programmes offer hands on practical experience and are highly regarded. The programmes were designed to meet the needs of industry in the region, nationally and internationally. Each program has a work placement built into the 3rd year. Feedback from employers and students about the placement experience is excellent.
Upon completion of Year 1 of the BSc (Hons) in Science, students have the choice of progressing into the second year of any of the following degree courses that run in the Department of Science at SETU Waterford:

Admissions Requirements
Secondary/High School Diploma, with good grades in English and Mathematics and at least 4 other subjects, on average + 60%.
Notes
For EU: first time undergraduate students pursuing a full time programme will qualify for free tuition fee funding, however, please refer to http://www.studentfinance.ie for full details of the “Free Fees Initiative” ( F.F.I ) scheme. The Student Contribution Charge for the academic year 2023/2024 is €3,000. All third level undergraduate students are liable to pay this fee, unless they qualify for a SUSI grant.
Application deadline for EU students is February 1. There is a late closing date of 1st May but this is not available for all courses or for some categories of applicant. There is a special late closing date of 22nd July for all students currently registered in SETU Waterford or another HEI who wish to transfer to the first year of a different programme.
