All Animal Science

An animal scientist is not the same as a veterinarian (or at least, not in principle). More accurately, they use their knowledge of sanitation, feed, genetics, and other factors to improve the welfare of farm animals. The ultimate goal is to increase their body mass, meat grade, milk, wool, or eggs. This naturally improves the farmer’s profit and makes cheaper, better food available to society at large. Other animals, like horses and dogs, are also bred by animal scientists, sometimes as their main occupation. In addition, the enclosures that house agricultural animals and the food they consume are designed by the same people.
