Profile
The aim of this four-year Honours Degree course is to produce graduates with the knowledge, skills, and competencies to respond effectively to current and future developments in agriculture and the agri-food industry. This is a common entry B.Sc. (Hons) in Agriculture program, with students specializing in the third year to graduate with either a BSc (Hons) in Sustainable Agriculture or Agri-Food Production. This is a common entry B.Sc. (Hons) in Agriculture program, and this program will have two award options: BSc (Hons) Sustainable Agriculture: The aim of this course is to provide students with an understanding of modern agricultural science with a strong foundation in food production and processing, quality assurance and safety, business and financial management, and environmental science. This course will specifically develop skills and knowledge in the areas of animal and crop production; animal husbandry and biosecurity; health and safety, agricultural mechanization; financial and business management; entrepreneurship and innovation; environmental protection, and the production and processing of safe, quality-assured food. This course provides students with an in-depth knowledge of the principles of agri-food production, with a strong foundation in business and financial management, environmental science, food production and processing, agricultural mechanization, quality assurance, and health and safety. Students will learn how this knowledge can be integrated into practice through extensive work placement and internship opportunities in current agricultural production and food processing positions and plants.

"Ireland bases its tuition rates on residence (3 of the last 5 years living in the EU) despite whether you're an EU citizen or not. In other words, only those who have resided in an EU country 3 of the last 5 years are eligible for the discounted rates."
Students should apply through the CAO system. Normal closing date is 01 February. Late Applications are those which are received in the CAO after 1st February. The latest date for receipt in the CAO of such application forms is 1st May. The CAO system allows changes to be made to applications up to 5.15 pm 1st July.
