Savonia University of Applied Sciences is a Finnish university of applied sciences (UAS) located in the cities of Kuopio, Iisalmi, and Varkaus. It is the sixth largest UAS in Finland, with over 6,500 students. Savonia offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes in a variety of fields, including:

Student Life
Savonia Campuses are located in three cities: Kuopio, Varkaus, and Iisalmi. Varkaus campus offers at the moment an opportunity to graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering in a truly international studying environment. Iisalmi campus – joy and innovative spirit! Our campus is a community of higher professional education with approximately 700 students and 70 staff. Microkatu Campus is the main campus for many of our functions. Kuopio Landmark Technopolis Microkatu is a Kuopio Landmark. Microkatu creates excellent networking opportunities for approximately 150 companies, one of them being Savonia UAS. You can play virtually any sport you wish in Iisalmi. Winter sports facilities are excellent: downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, ice hockey, and skating. And in summer there are facilities for swimming, jogging, hiking, orienteering, cycling, sailing, canoeing, etc. You can play tennis, badminton, football, Finnish baseball, basketball, golf, etc. The Student Union of Savonia University of Applied Sciences (SAVOTTA) is a non-political service and support organization for all students of Savonia University of Applied Sciences (Savonia UAS). SAVOTTA is an autonomous, public corporation. It is founded by the law of the Universities of Applied Sciences. According to the law, the Student Union is part of the University of Applied Sciences and its mission is to act on behalf of the students and as their representative.

KUOPAS is the student housing provider in Kuopio. Rent in student residences generally ranges from 275-375 euros per month,

Scholarship & Funding
Tuition for non-EU students is brand new to Finland. All schools are expected to provide scholarship opportunities to non-EU fee-paying students. Savonia will be offering scholarships in the form of 50% and 75% tuition waivers.
