Description
The Technical University of Lodz (TUL) is a public research university in Łódź, Poland. It was founded in 1945 and is one of the largest and most prestigious universities of technology in Poland. TUL has over 18,000 students and 1,500 faculty members. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in a variety of fields, including:

TUL is a beautiful and vibrant place to study. The campus is located in the heart of Łódź, and it is close to many of the city’s cultural and historical attractions. Łódź is a modern and cosmopolitan city with a lot to offer students.
Student Life
The university covers the area of about 30 hectares and is located in a few dozen buildings. Besides new structures built in the recent years the Lodz Univeristy of Technology adapted and revitalized a few historic 19th-century villas and factory buildings, adjusting them to its needs. All students are obliged to attend sports and recreation courses. Besides general fitness courses, like callanetics and aerobics, the students can choose among the following sections: volleyball, basketball, judo, football, handball, athletics, badminton, tennis, table tennis, ice-skating, taekwondo, rock-climbing, yoga, body-building, squash. The main task is to represent the interest of students at the Technical University of Lodz. In that scope, the Council of Students Self-Government on TUL (as a democratically elected representative of students) is closely cooperating with the university authorities and the Administration of TUL settlements in all matters relating to students of the Technical University of Lodz. In practice,, it may be said that Students’ Self-Government acts as students’ trade union and students’ culture maker.
Housing
The Lodz University of Technology administers nine halls of residence, only five to ten minutes from all faculties. The University cannot guarantee placement in the university dormitory because the accommodation possibilities are very limited. But international students should notify in advance the International Office of their intention to live in the halls of residence.
