Why should I study here?

With a student body of about 30 thousand the University of Debrecen is one of the largest institutions of higher education in Hungary today. The cooperation of fourteen faculties ensures the multidisciplinary background guaranteeing the University a leading role as a research and education institution, the intellectual center of Eastern Hungary. In 2007 our institution was the first to receive the highest degree of the Higher Education Qualification Price awarded to the most reputable Hungarian higher education institutions.

What are the admissions criteria?

The deadline for admission is June 15th. Medical, health science programs, deadline is May 31st. Applicants submit a CV, their diploma, transcripts, a medical certificate along with the application. Applicants also need to include a photocopy of their passport. If English is not your native language, proof of English proficiency is required. For medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy programs:Applicants must pass an entrance exam assessing knowledge Biology and either Chemistry of Physics. At this point, exams are not held in the US. Applicants can take the exam on campus, or at one of the closer international locations (UK, Iceland). IB students with high scores in designated courses can be exempt from the exam.

What is student life like?

DEAC includes 22 sections, including volleyball for men and women. Basketball for men Futsal and football for men Tennis for men or women bowling for men or women Chess, Aerobic, Athletics, Swimming, Table tennis, BridgeHiking, Sailing

Housing in dorms is offered, but no guaranteed. All rooms are doubles and cost 195 euros per month.
