A school that trains students to become ‘Tourist Officiers’ (Tourist Officers) — that was the idea of Mr. Sliepen, director of the Breda Tourist Information Office, back in 1963. This school was to be a national scientific institute, consisting of a research department and a course program. As this school was the first of its kind, educational material was mainly obtained through its own research efforts. Breda University of Applied Sciences, formerly NHTV, is a Dutch vocational university in Breda, Netherlands. BUas caters for more than 7,000 Dutch and international students from over 80 countries.
