Student Life
The main campus in Deggendorf is based around a modern, central courtyard with water features and a hovering deck, where staff and students enjoy the relaxed atmosphere whilst having lunch, socializing, revising, or just hanging out. A range of events is held in the campus courtyard every year, with the largest being a popular summer open-air music festival. Most importantly, all 6 faculties and all service centers for our 5,700 students are based on our compact campus, creating an open, friendly, and communicative environment among staff, students, and professors. University sports are open to all students and staff, focusing on popular recreational sports for relaxation after a busy day of studying and research. Competitive participants have the opportunity to compete at university championships in one of our teams or as an individual. Sporting activities are held at locations provided by external organizations and clubs. University makes studies, academics, and research possible; Student Services, on the other hand, helps students to manage their everyday student life: they provide food and beverages in the cafeteria and café; they provide support in the search for apartments, rooms, and private rooms; they process application forms for BAföG; they sponsor culturally involved students; they issue the German-French social ID card for German students who wish to study in France; they organize the German-French Exchange Program for students and employees in collaboration with C.R.O.U.S. Clermont-Ferrand; and finally, they provide information and support for financial, social, and personal problems and/or issues.
