The University Politechnica in Bucharest is the largest and oldest technical university in the country and is among the most prestigious universities in Romania.The tradition of our institution, developed over 190 years through the effort of the nation’s schoolmasters and generations of students, is not the only convincing reason. Today, the POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest is undergoing a continuous modernization process, being involved in a permanent dialogue with great universities in Europe and all over the world. The mission of the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest has been thought over as a blend of education, research, and innovation, which represents a key to a knowledge-based society and economy. Creating knowledge mainly through scientific research, giving it out through education and professional training, disseminating it through information technologies, as well as the use of technological innovation are elements that define the university’s distinctive profile.
Student Life
The modernization of the Regie campus was spread over a period of four years, during which major repairs were carried out in all the residences. In order for students to benefit from suitable study spaces, reading rooms were set up in all the halls. Green spaces were another priority of UPB management, which ensured the planting of over 1,500 trees and shrubs. For leisure, students have at their disposal some clubs where they can listen to music and dance. Students living on the two campuses have sports facilities in the following locations: The New Local sports hall – equipped with the latest and most modern sports accessories for team sports; The Natural Grass Football Field at Leu Campus; Soccer and basketball fields (synthetic surface) – next to the New Local sports hall; Fitness gym in R2 residence at Regie campus; Sports hall at Leu campus. Being a student at UPB means enjoying various opportunities. Adding them means adding enthusiasm, willingness, and personal development goals. You can turn them all into memorable experiences. Being a member of a student organization can provide you with the context you need to develop your potential and prepare yourself for a future career. The whole concept of a student NGO is about volunteering. But your work is not without payment. You will receive the feeling of well-done work, of the usefulness of your ideas and effort, and many positive emotions.
