University (ATU) in Letterkenny is a four-year program designed for students interested in exploring various design disciplines before specializing in a specific area.
The first year provides a broad introduction to core design principles, history, theory, and digital media. Students are exposed to various design disciplines like animation, film & media production, graphic & UX design, and fashion design with promotion.
In the second year, students choose their area of specialization based on their interests and strengths. They can pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in:
- Animation
- Graphic & Digital Design
- Fashion with Promotion
- Digital Film & Video
The program incorporates industry practices and trends, preparing students for successful careers in the creative field.
Notes
Tuition Fee – the Department of Education pays tuition fees for all full-time students who are citizens of a Member State of the EU and who meet the residency requirements. Most full-time undergraduate students will be covered by the Free Fees Initiative scheme for their tuition fee. Students from Northern Ireland or Great Britain do not have to pay tuition fees to study in the Republic of Ireland. All students are liable for the Student Contribution fee: €3,000. Application deadline for EU students is February 1.
Admissions Requirements
High School Diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.0 plus: SAT score of 1000+ (1800 prior to 2016) or ACT composite score of 22 and above or 2-3 Advanced Placement Examinations in relevant subjects with grades 3 and above OR 2-3 SAT subject tests in relevant subjects with a minimum score of 600 in each.
