Touring in the summer in Europe is tricky since most schools shut down during the summer season. You may not get building access, and you may not get a full picture of what the school is like with when classes are in session and students are around. You can always directly contact the schools via their international student office(s) asking what touring options they have – every school will have its own setup. Another option is to ask the Beyond the States community if one of their students is attending one of the schools you’re hoping to tour, and if the student would be a point of contact while you’re there. If for whatever reason you aren’t able to visit or tour a prospective school, you’re not alone – many of our members apply to, and attend, programs in Europe sight-unseen, and have positive stories to tell.
