Profile
The goal of the course is to capture latest computational and experimental methods used in the field of the mechanics of solids, and to use them for the reliability and service life assessments of machine structures. In the area of computational mechanics, students gain a detailed knowledge of theory and practice of the FEM, applied to static and dynamic strength analysis, including nonlinear, buckling and transient problems. In the area of experimental mechanics, students gain personal experience in laboratories, equipped by reputable producers of measurement technology that have their commercial representation at the institute.-Mathematical EngineeringThe graduates will acquire more profound knowledge of mathematics and informatics that can be used to deal with sophisticated problems in engineering practice. Thus, in addition to the knowledge of the essential engineering fields acquired with the Bachelor’s degree, the graduates will obtain the theoretical background needed for them to attain leading positions in research teams of various engineering specializations.-Physical Engineering and NanotechnologyThis study program is suitable for absolvent of technically-oriented bachelor study programs with extended education in physics and mathematics. The aim of the program is to prepare students to solve scientific problems from the field of applied physics, construction of scientific instruments and engineering experiments in research laboratories and development centers. The subject of the study program is based on lessons from selected fields of modern physics, applied physics and physical principles of metrology. It also includes courses devoted to different experimental procedures and techniques in selected laboratories and applications of computers for modeling, construction and data analysis.-Precise Mechanics and OpticsThe aim of this study program is to provide absolvent of bachelor study programs (preferably of mechanical engineering) with knowledge from the field of fine mechanics and optics. On these fields are based the modern scientific instruments and biomedical equipments, moreover these fields are considerably involved in creation and development of automated systems. The subjects of the study program are devoted to deepening the knowledge in physics, especially in photonics and particle optics. They also include courses devoted to construction, realization and application of high-tech devices used in the presented fields.
