Profile
In the first year all the undergraduates will achieve the same learning objectives, common to all the study plans: competence in distributed computing and in coordination models, advanced concepts of business intelligence and of the latest topics in computer science, skill in the design and analysis of complex software systems, and in-depth knowledge of theoretical computer science. In addition, the undergraduates will have to acquire the scientific research method, to understand and use the tools of mathematics, logic and theory of computation, which are of support to computer science and its applications. In the second year, the undergraduates can choose between a vast number of exams in different fields such as, networks, distributed systems, modellation of biological systems and basic theoretical areas. There is also the possibility of spending the last year of the Master Degree in different foreign universities (ex. Switzerland and Iceland) to the end of acquiring a double degree. The achievement of expected learning outcomes is verified, for each training activity, through the assessment of practical tests and written examinations, practical projects, and oral exams during the courses and at the end of the educational activity. These tests are intended not only to ensure the acquisition of technical knowledge, but also to stimulate and evaluate the student’s ability to organize and revise their knowledge and expose it in a proper manner. To this end we provide lectures, workshops and tutoring activities for the various courses.
