University of Camerino
Description
Camerino has been a centre of learning since at least 1200, offering degrees in civil law, canonical law, medicine, and literary studies. Pope Gregory XI took the decision in the papal edict (Bull) of January 29, 1377, following the request of Gentile III da Varano of Camerino, who addressed the commune and people, authorizing Camerino to confer, after examination, bachelor and doctoral degrees.
Student Life
5 University Schools and 4 campuses (Camerino, Ascoli Piceno, Matelica, San Benedetto del Tronto). Bachelor and Master's courses held in English as well as Doctoral courses.UNICAM boasts of building structures and equipment in continual development: teaching and scientific libraries and a large number of research laboratories, modern sports facilities; dormitories for over 800 people; student services; and facilities The C.U.S. (university sports center association) arranges all the sporting activities, managing the following sports facilities situated in loc. At UNICAM, there are a number of Student Unions that can respond to students’ logistical needs and that offer group activity and other leisure time activities.
Housing
The university's guest accommodation is mainly for both foreign students and academics from universities and from public and private research bodies visiting Camerino University for cultural exchanges, technical/scientific co-operation or didactic reasons.
