The aim of the Master’s Degree course in Data Science is to make the student acquire the multidisciplinary knowledge and skills necessary for the effective declination of mathematical / computer skills in the analysis of data sets that are not necessarily heterogeneous and / or structured. The student, starting from a base in mathematics / information technology / economics, will have to achieve solid skills related to disciplines such as: computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, management, law, humanities and physics, with the specific aim of developing methods and tools to manage and analyze Big Data, develop forecasting and decision making models and use the knowledge extracted to support strategic-decision-making processes in various application areas and with particular reference to the needs of SMEs in the Industry 4.0 sector. In relation to these purposes, the Master’s Degree Course in Data Science offers courses aimed at achieving specific objectives in the following areas:● Mathematical-modeling: emphasis on analytical / quantitative and modeling methods and tools, with particular reference to Probability theory, statistical-inferential analysis, statistical learning, optimization techniques and data selection, also with specific reference to schemes numerical, and methods and models of the physics of complex systems● Information technology: emphasis on methods and tools to develop techniques of data cleaning / data analysis / data visualization and exploratory analysis, use and development of specific software in the field of machine learning, and deployment● Management: development of knowledge in the field of corporate management and organizational culture, also in relation to the organization of processes, decisions by means of tools in the context of the optimization of corporate processes and business intelligence with particular reference to logistics, marketing, customer segmentation / scoring / clustering problems, as well as with reference to the acquisition of methodologies for the management and sharing of business processes● Legal: specific objectives in this sector are those of knowledge of the principles and sources of law private and public law, regulations (eg, privacy / NDA) on data management● Philosophical-Social: focus on the acquisition of the ethical-philosophical bases of the value of the data so that the student is able to treat the data itself in an ethical sense also in relation to the production context in which it will be professionally inserted also in relation to the interpretation of social phenomena. related economic.
