During the Master’s Degree Programme in Educational Sciences, students will gain a broad understanding of the field of education with a particular awareness of international issues in education. Students become familiar with the Finnish education system and reflect it to their own experiences and the global contexts. Students will have the opportunity to specialise in areas of education which they find the most relevant and interesting. The areas of specialisation are Educational Leadership, Early Childhood Studies, Special Education, Guidance and Counselling, Language Education, and Current Issues in Education and Psychology.Students will acquire scientific expertise in the field of education and will be able to work with theories and analyse and develop educational practices. The Master’s Degree creates a foundation for producing scientific knowledge and applying scientific methods in practice in the field of education. The programme prepares experts into various sectors of education in national and international contexts: educational planning, administration, consultancy, coordination, development, teaching and research.
