The Master’s Degree Programme in Information and Communication Technology provides versatile and high quality ICT education in selected fields of ICT, with an established reputation in innovative interdisciplinary and international education. The programme has international double-degree collaboration with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Master School and with the Fudan University in Shanghai, China.The Smart Systems specialisation track prepares its students for challenging software and hardware oriented research and development tasks on embedded intelligent systems in industry, society and academia. Graduates’ employment prospects are excellent in Finland, in Europe and globally. A student can tailor the orientation of his/her studies toward a hardware or software emphasis by elective studies in both major and minor subjects.The Smart Systems specialisation track covers the key concepts, technologies and methods needed in design of smart and autonomous networked systems. These include e.g. Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, energy efficient embedded and distributed computing platforms, edge and fog computing paradigms, intelligent multi-agent system concepts, as well as relevant software and hardware design methods. The content has a close connection with recent research in the field. The theoretical content is augmented with practical exercises in e.g. robotic and autonomous applications.
