Marine Hydrology Master programme is created to deepen students’ competence in marine science especially in oceanology, structural and functional changes in the research and geosystem landscape context. The person, who has Master’s degree of Physical Geography, is capable of using the newest geographical, geoinformatical, sea and coastal region environmental research methods, has spatial system modelling basics, also has skills of environmental planning and coastal zone management.The Master’s programme in Marine Hydrology (Oceanology) prepares students to engage with one of the most fundamental and important subjects today: physical process of sea, of coastal and marine environment, of climate change, of sea-air interaction, and natural resource management.The structure of the curriculumDuring the studies, students analyse the sea-land system and its environmental functioning. The courses in the curriculum consists of Remote Sensing of the Marine Environment, Physical Oceanography of the Baltic Sea, Physics of the Ocean and Seas, Environment Risk Assessment and Management, Research Methodology and Ethics (EG), Integrated Coastal Zone Management (EG), Climate and Global Changes, Geographical Information System and Remote Sensing, The Baltic Sea Geology, Foreign Traineeship, Sea Geochemistry and Sedimentology, Wave Dynamics, Research Project , Numerical Modelling in the Aquatic System, Energy Efficiency Management and Maritime Industry, Strategic Planning and Project Management, Global Environmental Governance, Tourism Resources and Sustainability, Master’s Final Thesis.Oceanography practice in the marine research vessels of Klaipeda University “Mintis” and / or “Brabander”. During apprenticeship, students consolidate knowledge of the environment awareness and gain new skills while working in various institutions.

Admissions Requirements
Applicants need a bachelor's degree in any study field. Applicants from non-anglophone countries must provide proof of English proficiency. The application deadline for non-EU students is December 10.
