Are you good at mathematics and do you want to connect the dots in the real world? Then the programme in Mathematical Physical Modelling is the thing for you.You will learn to translate from reality to mathematics and back again, to understand the basic prerequisites for when mathematical models work and, especially, when they do not work. Mathematical models play an important role in almost every part of society and business, so graduates with these skills are highly valued in many sectors, including industry, the financial sector, and software development as well as the educational section.Physics has a long tradition of describing the world with mathematics, so many physicists are employed in all the above fields. In the Mathematical Physical Modelling programme, we build on this tradition and combine mathematics and physics so you are introduced to both subjects’ foundational disciplines and ways of thinking and learn how to develop and work with mathematical models. The program thus unites the abstraction of mathematics with the concrete approach to the world of physics.The programme will provide you with the skills to identify, formalise, analyse, evaluate and solve problems within physics and mathematics independently or in cooperation with others. You will learn to understand, develop, implement and evaluate experimental studies, simulations, physical reasoning and mathematical proofs, and to understand, develop, apply and evaluate qualitative and/or quantitative models within the subjects.You finish the programme by writing an interdisciplinary master thesis.

Admissions Requirements
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree with a major in their field of study. Applicants from non-anglophone countries must provide proof of English proficiency. Application deadline for non-EU students is September 1 and March 1.
