Profile
As of winter semester 2015/16, the MSc in Applied and Molecular Plant Biology will continue as an international, English-language MSc in Molecular Plant Sciences. The new program focuses on how molecular biological methods are managed and applied in the field of biology, a topic that repeatedly features in wider debates within society. Over four semesters, students on this research- and application-oriented program learn about molecular biological, physiological, and histological methods and procedures and apply these independently in experiments. The program emphasizes accuracy and correct scientific procedure in the derivation, formulation, and testing of hypotheses. Students also explore the socio-economic context of molecular biology, which enables them to critically examine and advance developments in the field.
