At Sibelius Academy, the focus for piano studies is on solo performance, chamber music and lied pianism. Teaching is also provided on period instruments, accompanied with discussions of historical performance practices. The syllabus also includes accompaniment and pedagogical skills. The main subject for the 5.5 year bachelor’s and master’s programme is the piano. For the 2.5 year master’s programme, there are three options for the main subject: 1) piano, 2) piano chamber music and lied, and 3) fortepiano.After graduating from the piano music programme, you will be able to work as a soloist, music teacher, chamber musician, and lied pianist. Some of graduates find careers elsewhere in the music industry, such as media and music management.

Admissions Requirements
A bachelor's degree in a related field is required. Applicants from non-anglophone countries must provide proof of English proficiency (TOEFL 92 and IELTS 6.5).
