If you have an interest in and aptitude for high-level maths but want time to decide your exact academic concentration, Common Entry offers entry into two full BSc degree courses: Actuarial Mathematics and Financial Mathematics. The advantage of Common Entry is that, after two years of study, you’ll know which of the two-degree options you prefer. Access to Financial Mathematics is exclusively through Common Entry. The BSc in Actuarial Mathematics also has direct entry through application to DC126. If you wish to maximize your chances of enrolling in an actuarial or financial course, apply for Common Entry and the BSc in Actuarial Mathematics in order of your priorities.
Notes
"Ireland bases its tuition rates on residence (3 of the last 5 years living in the EU) despite whether you're an EU citizen or not. In other words, only those who have resided in an EU country 3 of the last 5 years are eligible for the discounted rates."
Admissions Requirements
High school diploma including any honours subjects with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants who have completed an alternative qualification may be considered for direct entry into Undergraduate programmes at DCU.
