This Honours Degree course is offered jointly by Munster Technological University (MTU) Cork and University College Cork. Medical Scientists work in partnership with doctors and other healthcare professionals to perform many different roles in medical laboratories. Biomedical Science is a dynamic and continually changing profession and involves the study of diverse areas of medical science including Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cellular Pathology, Haematology, and Transfusion Science. It provides training in state-of-the-art technologies to facilitate the investigation of disease and medical research.
Notes
The Student Contribution Charge for EU students is €3,000. EU tuition may be covered by the Free Fees Initiative. EU-Nationals, who are repeating a full year of study, must pay tuition fees.
Application deadline for EU students is February 1.
Admissions Requirements
High School Diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 and ACT with a minimum score of 23 or SATS with a minimum score 1140. It is required from applicants to have completed 4 years of English, at least 3 years of Math (4 years recommended) at least 2 years of History/Social Science and a language and at least 2 years of a laboratory science subject (4 years recommended). Specific subjects may be required for entry into certain courses.
