Biotechnology is a field of study, which traditionally encompasses three scientific areas: genetic and cellular manipulative technology, enzyme technology, and fermentation technology. The curriculum provides graduates of bachelor study with a basic knowledge in chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, xenobiochemistry, bioanalytical methods, fermentation technology, bioengineering, fundamentals of management, law, and economy. Graduates are in sufficient command of at least one world language, are familiar with practical aspects of the information technology. They have an appropriate qualification for further master studies or can find employment in a broad area of biotechnology industry focused on fermentation technologies, pharmacy, or environmental protection.
