Civil engineers are involved both in engineering and in the organization of engineering projects. They are experts who combine technical know-how with ‘soft skills’, such as communication, project management and process management.The Bachelor’s programme in Civil Engineering will teach you about all these aspects. Our programme focuses on three core themes: construction, transport and water. In learning about construction, you will study the functional design of structures and the management of the construction process. Transport is about the combination of infrastructure, mobility and sustainable transport systems. Studying water and water management involves disciplines such as fluid mechanics and dynamics, and areas like water and coastal management, reservoirs, water flows and flood protection. A field of expertise the Dutch are famous for! Civil Engineering at Twente is a technical bachelor programme with a focus on management and organization. This combination of technology and management is a major reason for studying Civil Engineering at Twente – in addition to our project-based education and highly personal approach!Our Bachelor’s programme consists of about 75% technical subjects and 10% subjects related to business and administration. The remaining 15% of the Bachelor’s programme consists of electives. The non-technical aspects also play an important role in the projects. This combination of science and management makes you an attractive employee for future employers. In the business world, demand for engineers from Twente is high. Civil Engineering at the University of Twente features a distinctive project-led teaching method, in which you tackle real-world projects in student teams.

Admissions Requirements
Secondary school diploma equivalent to the Dutch VWO level with good grades in at least: advanced mathematics, physics.
