Economics and Business

The study program provides students with an opportunity to acquire a broad knowledge of economics and business. The study course range is interesting for mathematically-inclined students, students interested in finance or accountancy, or students with an entrepreneurial spirit. Apart from academic knowledge students obtain the skills of working in project teams, doing applied research after visiting companies for gaining practical insights, acquiring negotiation and public speaking skills, and developing interpersonal communication skills as well. The program is organized on a modular basis- only 1-2 core courses are delivered at the same time, allowing students to focus on one subject at a time. It also offers an international study environment. Students represent about ten countries which include the Baltic States, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, and others. Upon graduation, SSE Riga students build successful careers in a wide range of sectors, including finance, banking, real estate, auditing and consulting, IT and telecommunications, advertising and media, government, manufacturing and construction, and education and research.
