The study programme “Management of International Economic Relations” is to educate and train senior specialists and heads of departments in the field of international economic relations management in accordance with the global labour market demands. The key emphasis of the study process is placed on the development of professional and practical skills based on scientific achievements, theoretical knowledge and specifics of the particular industry. The study programme envisages specialization in two directions:– administration of foreign economic relations in the institutions of the European Union;– international economic relations management in enterprises. Taking into consideration the specifics of the industry, some study courses are implemented in the English language in order to directly improve the use of professional terminology related to international business development and to promote successful cooperation with foreign institutions, organizations and companies. The academic staff of the university as well as industry representatives and highly trained practitioners with practical experience built up in companies and institutions of the relevant field are involved in the study process implementation. Students’ practical skills are developed and improved not only by working on projects and solving various practical tasks but also by undertaking a 6-month practical placement in institutions and companies operating in the relevant industry. Students are also offered and guaranteed participation in field trips to industrial enterprises in Latvia and abroad.
Admissions Requirements
Secondary (High) School Graduation Certificate and Transcript with good results, particularly in mathematics and/or physics, Motivation Letter, CV, a video interview.
