The aim of this course is to produce film and television production professionals with the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies to work within the film and screen industries in Ireland and abroad. This program produces highly functioning generalists and remains at the forefront of new techniques and technologies. This 4-year honors degree includes a work placement and allows students to specialize in areas such as TV Studio Production, Documentary Film Production, and Drama Production for Film and Television. Practical modules are complemented by a range of theory-driven modules, including Film Studies, Writing for Film and TV, and Television Studies. Students in the 3rd and 4th years of the course also have the opportunity to compete for the Annual John Moore Film Award.
Notes
The government will pay the Tuition Fee for most first-time, full-time EU Undergraduates as part of the Free Fees Initiative. All students are liable for the Student Contribution fee: €3,000.
Students should apply through the CAO system. Normal closing date is 01 February. Late Applications are those which are received in the CAO after 1st February. The latest date for receipt in the CAO of such application forms is 1st May. The CAO system allows changes to be made to applications up to 5.15 pm 1st July.
