In general, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) deals with technologies, methods, and tools for the computerized analysis and exchange of data, e.g., software applications, data networks, and hi-tech electronic devices. This programme offers versatile opportunities for you as a future ICT professional and gives you the possibility to find a career in the ICT field, e.g. as a network administrator or an embedded software engineer. At the beginning of the third academic year, your professional studies focus on an advanced topic or a so-called competence track. You can select your track between two main alternatives: Embedded Software and Data Networks and Information Security. In addition, it is possible to select the competence tracks ICT Services and Business Solutions or Entrepreneurship common with the Business programme. Furthermore, you can study some of the advanced modules integrated into the research, development, and innovation projects of the university. The competence track in Embedded Software focuses on software development for microchip-controlled devices such as elevators, home electronics and mobile devices. Core competencies in embedded software design are C programming and real-time operating systems. Most of the courses in this track are taught in English. Data Networks and Information Security students concentrate on topics in IP networks, servers and enterprise-level information security. In addition, ICT service processes and project management are important elements for future professionals. As a Bachelor of Engineering, you have the possibility to apply to Master’s programmes at Universities or, when you have three years of working experience after your graduation from TUAS you can apply for Master’s programmes at Universities of Applied Sciences.
