Pharmacy is the study of all aspects of drugs, both natural and synthetic in origin, including their chemistry, their uses in medicines, and how they work within the body. Pharmacists work in a variety of settings – community pharmacies, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and within the pharmaceutical industry, to name just a few. In many respects, their role as a key healthcare professional is to help people achieve the best results from their medications.Pharmacy: The course for you?While this degree is an essential requirement if you wish to practise as a community or hospital pharmacist, Pharmacy at Trinity opens up a wide variety of professional opportunities in both industry and the wider healthcare sector. A strong interest in science is important to fully enjoy the course.
Notes
Health screening and Garda Vetting is required prior to registration for this programme. A graduate entry route to this degree is also available.Non-EU price is €17,505 and for EU is €8,753.In order for a student to be eligible for the Free Fees Initiative, they must have been living within the EU, UK or EEA countries, for the last 3 out of 5 years, must be a citizen and passport holder of the EU, UK or EEA and this must be their first time attending third level education, ie. university. Application deadline for EU students is February 1.
Admissions Requirements
US High School Diploma with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better (B+ average) unweighted and SAT with a minimum score of 1250 - 1400 on any two of the Critical Reading, Math and Writing sections and no score less than 500 or ACT with a minimum composite score of 27 - 32, Two Letters of Recommendation, Academic Statement. Specific requirements: Mathematics and in one of physics, biology, mathematics, applied mathematics, geography, geology, computer science or agricultural science. Weighted GPAs will be recalculated by the Applications & Admissions Team.
