University of Kent Medway
Description
The Medway campus is friendly and close-knit, with students from a variety of backgrounds working and socialising together.
New to Medway? Don’t worry, you’ll find there are lots of local students on campus who can help you to discover the area. Public transport links to Medway are good, so some of our students choose to commute from home, whether that’s from London or elsewhere in Kent. Wherever you come from, when you arrive on campus, you’ll find lots to do and some interesting people to meet.
The Medway campus is close to the towns of Rochester and Chatham, with their fascinating histories, and part of the redeveloped Chatham Maritime area.
The campus has two sites, Pembroke and The Historic Dockyard Chatham. It’s just a 10-minute walk from one to the other, so it’s easy to make the most of the facilities on each site.
Area of Studies
Student Life
Studying at university is about learning skills and becoming part of the community, making friends and creating memories that will stay with you forever. So, make the most of your time, join societies, go to events, discover new interests and gain skills that set you up for the future.
University is all about new experiences, discovering more about yourself, what you're good at and what you enjoy. You'll be working hard but it's important to relax too. Spending some time away from your books helps you to create a balanced life, which can really benefit your studies. So take advantage of the societies on offer to try something new, you'll make friends and maybe discover a hidden talent.
Create memories at our on-campus entertainment space, The Deep End. Part of our Student Hub, it is a great place to relax with friends. It hosts quiz nights, comedy nights, live music and DJs.
Also, if you love live music don't forget there are performance spaces on our Historic Dockyard site. Our music students frequently perform and, who knows, one day you might be able to say, "Yeah, I was at their first gig"!
If you want to explore Kent's other campus at Canterbury, the University provides a free shuttle bus that runs between each location.
Dining
Eat good food and pay student-friendly prices at our campus cafés. You can start the day with a smoothie or one of our 'mega breakfasts' and end it with one of the international dishes available at our Student Hub. If you’ve got a special dietary requirement, we’ve got that covered too.
