Capture the world around you and tell visual stories with impact through the University of Salford’s BA (Hons) in Photography. This three-year, full-time program equips you with the creative and technical skills to become a well-rounded photographer, fostering artistic exploration, a critical understanding of the medium, and the ability to navigate the contemporary photography landscape.
Develop Your Artistic Voice: Explore diverse photographic genres and experiment with various techniques and media. Hone your ability to translate ideas into compelling photographic narratives and develop a unique visual style.
Master Technical Expertise: Gain a solid foundation in photographic principles, including exposure, lighting, composition, digital workflow, and camera operation. Learn industry-standard post-production techniques and explore potential applications of alternative photographic processes (analogue photography).
Conceptual Depth and Context: Develop a critical understanding of the history and theory of photography. Learn to analyze and contextualize your work within the broader artistic and social landscape.

Tuition fee for UK students is €10,800.
Admissions Requirements
High School Diploma with a combined score of SAT I of at least 1260 with an individual minimum score in mathematics of 570 /800 and an individual minimum score of 610/800 in the evidence-based reading and writing section; or ACT with a score of at least 26; or grade 3, 3, 4 in three Advanced Placement Tests (APs) in specified subjects; or SAT II in three specified subjects at 575 or better (we will accept tests interchangeably as long as in total three subject areas are covered).
If you do not meet the entry requirements, you could take the International Foundation Year to gain entry onto this degree.
You’ll have to submit a personal statement (up to 500 words).
For some applicants, you’ll be asked to provide us with a portfolio of work and potentially take part in an informal group seminar discussion or interview– either live or on camera – to demonstrate your skills.
