Bring your artistic vision to life and master the art of storytelling through movement with the University of Salford’s BA (Hons) in Animation. This three-year, full-time program equips you with the creative and technical skills to become a versatile animator, fostering a strong foundation in animation principles, industry-standard software, and a deep understanding of the animation industry.
Become a Storytelling Master: Develop your ability to translate complex ideas and stories into captivating animated narratives. Learn character design, storyboarding techniques, and the art of creating engaging animation sequences.
Technical Expertise: Gain proficiency in industry-standard 2D and 3D animation software (Adobe Animate, Maya, etc.) and explore various animation techniques like traditional hand-drawn animation, stop-motion animation, and digital animation.
Solid Foundational Skills: Master the fundamental principles of animation, including character movement, timing and spacing, physics, and visual effects. Develop a strong understanding of color theory, composition, and visual storytelling.
Project-Based Learning: Develop your animation skills and storytelling abilities through engaging animation projects. Collaborate with fellow students on creative projects, participate in live briefs, and gain valuable experience in various animation styles and techniques.
Professional Preparation: Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to launch your career as a professional animator. Learn about portfolio development, self-promotion strategies, copyright and licensing issues, and potential career paths within the animation industry.

If the university or college still has places available after the deadline, you can apply, but your application is not guaranteed to be considered.
Tuition fee for UK students is €10,800.
Admissions Requirements
High School Diploma with a combined score of SAT I of at least 1260 with an individual minimum score in mathematics of 570 /800 and an individual minimum score of 610/800 in the evidence-based reading and writing section; or ACT with a score of at least 26; or grade 3, 3, 4 in three Advanced Placement Tests (APs) in specified subjects; or SAT II in three specified subjects at 575 or better (we will accept tests interchangeably as long as in total three subject areas are covered).
If you do not meet the entry requirements, you could take the International Foundation Year to gain entry onto this degree.
As part of your application, we will need to see a portfolio of work to provide the opportunity for you to share your creative practice with us.
