St Patrick’s College, Maynooth, opened its doors as an educational institution in 1795 as the National Seminary, becoming a Pontifical University in 1896. In the intervening two centuries, it has established for itself an impressive reputation for scholarship and learning. The Pontifical University and National Seminary are often referred to as Maynooth College. Today, as a Pontifical University, the College specializes in the study of theology, philosophy, and related areas, in one of the most beautiful campuses in Ireland and has the support of Ireland’s newest university, Maynooth University.

Student Life

Rich cultural heritage - a variety of cultural activities on campus (VISUAL Arts Centre & Theatre right next door and The Carlow Arts Festival, Culture Night & the Carlow Art Collection all held on the College grounds). There are Various different student support systems and many clubs and societies offered (e.g. gaming society, book readers club, soccer, debate, etc.)

The typical price is €400-500 per month. There is plenty of student accommodation available in Carlow Town, most of it within minutes of Carlow College.
