The Master’s Programme is designed for students who are interested in both learning about the complex problems of transition countries as well as developing approaches to overcome these problems by linking economic, political and environmental aspects. A background in related sciences is required. The central target group is primarily graduates from transition countries who want to deepen and broaden their knowledge by attending this further education programme. Transition countries are characterized by enormous economic and political transformations. Their societies are changing from a state-directed economy to a market economy, from autocracy to democracy. The group of transition countries includes the successor states of the former Soviet Union, the countries of Eastern and South Eastern Europe, as well as recent transition countries in Africa and Asia, for example China.The Master’s Programme Transition Management is an interdisciplinary study programme established by five faculties of Justus Liebig University Giessen, headed by the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Nutritional Sciences and Environmental Management (Faculty 09). The technical organization is carried out by the Center for International Development and Environmental Research (ZEU).

Admissions Requirements
Applicants should have a bachelor degree with a major in agriculture, nutrition, natural or environmental sciences, economics, law, political science. Applicants from non-anglophone countries should provide proof of English proficiency. Application deadline for non EU students is January 15 and July 15.
