Global Studies

The Degree in Global Studies / Global Studies begins to be taught at USAL in the academic year 2018-2019, once the verification process (of ACSUCyL and the Council of Universities) has been passed.Provides students with a multidisciplinary and comprehensive academic training for analysis and understanding of the different phenomena and multilevel challenges that states, governments and societies have to face today, such as growing inequality, the crisis of democracy , global warming, the depletion of natural resources, migratory crises, and violence and political conflicts in various parts of the world. For this, the study plan is structured around five basic pillars: international politics, economics, society, international law and international relations.These studies last 3 years and are organized into subjects of basic training (60 ECTS), compulsory (82 ECTS), optional (32 ECTS) and the final degree project (6 ECTS).Teaching is taught and assessed entirely in English . Likewise, to reinforce their training, it is proposed that students spend a semester at another European university , so that, in addition to living an international experience, they can improve their future professional opportunities in fields as varied as international organizations, government institutions, research centers. , NGOs and / or multinational companies, among others.In addition, the program is completed with a wide offer of extracurricular voluntary external internships in institutions of different kinds. Some examples: the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, Inter-American Development Bank, Caf-Development Bank of Latin America, CIDOB Center, Esglobal, Alternativas Foundation, Llorente & Cuenca, Foreign Policy, Elcano Royal Institute, Secretary of State for International and Ibero-American Cooperation, Ibero-American General Secretariat, Organization of Ibero-American States, World Tourism Organization, etc.
